Physical Memories

"You cannot know how well people's bodies remember their ancestors."

-Octavia Butler

When speaking with an Architecture Professor who was teaching at Georgia Tech in 2020, I learned of the Wire Bending Techniques in different communities and the ways that these traditions and skills were being lost due to the decline in the health of many artists within the community.

In this project, users are given a wire and as they manipulate the wire they are asked to share a memory that is recorded and saved.

Due to limited time, I chose to use a Makey Makey. In future iterations, I hope to use either an Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
