‘I takes freedom’

When we try to imagine slavery and the emancipation era in the United States, the experiences and activism of enslaved Black children rarely come to mind. My senior Independent Study project at the College of Wooster focused on the lived experiences of black youth from 1865 to 1914. As a digital IS, I hoped my audience would fully understand the challenges that Black youth faced during the period through a virtual museum.
